Bentley has unveiled the Torcal, its first all-electric SUV and the company’s first completely new model line in a decade.

The British luxury carmaker says the Torcal range will be offered in two versions: the standard Torcal and the more performance-focused Torcal S.

The Torcal S becomes the most powerful production Bentley yet, producing up to 653kW and 1,350Nm when Launch Control is activated.

Serious electric performance

The standard Torcal produces 604kW and 1,155Nm from its dual-motor electric powertrain.

Bentley says it can accelerate from 0–100km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 250km/h.

The Torcal S raises output to 653kW and 1,350Nm. It completes the 0–100km/h sprint in 2.9 seconds and reaches 260km/h.

Both models use all-wheel drive, while Bentley’s Active Ride suspension system and all-wheel steering are designed to improve stability and manoeuvrability.

Up to 600km of range

Bentley lists a 113.2kWh battery for both Torcal models.

The company claims a maximum driving range of up to 600km, although final consumption and range figures remain subject to type approval.

Bentley says DC charging from 10% to 80% can take around 16 minutes under suitable conditions.

At a 350kW charging station, the Torcal can add roughly 357km of range in about 10 minutes.

Bentley luxury goes electric

Inside, the Torcal keeps Bentley’s traditional focus on comfort and craftsmanship.

The front seats feature 16-way electrical adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage functions. A 16-speaker Bentley Signature Audio system is fitted as standard, while a 28-speaker Naim system is available.

Bentley also introduces its Dynamic Symphony system, which uses the sound of real musical instruments to create an electric driving soundtrack.

The Torcal marks the beginning of Bentley’s next generation of electric models as the company expands its electrified line-up.
