The DJ Warras murder accused abandoned his bail application in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Armindo Joaquim Pacula, a 25-year-old Mozambican national, told the court he fears for his life at Johannesburg Correctional Centre (Sun City) after a friend was killed there.
His lawyer, Thembile Gumpye, said Pacula wants to avoid that facility. The court ordered his transfer to Modderbee Correctional Centre in Benoni.
DJ Warras Murder Accused Signals Possible Guilty Plea
Pacula faces charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and contravening the Immigration Act.
The state links the killing of Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock to a dispute at the hijacked Zambezi Building near Carlton Centre.
Stock, who ran a security company, was installing a biometric access system at the property when he was shot dead on 16 December 2025.
Prosecutor Vincent Mochabela confirmed Pacula is illegally in South Africa. Defence indicated a possible plea agreement, though not yet finalised.
Pacula previously confessed and pointed out the crime scene, according to court updates.
Mozambique High Commission Offers Cooperation
A delegation from the Mozambique High Commission attended proceedings and called for a fair trial.
Guilherme Tanele said: “If it is proven that he has committed a crime, we will be there to cooperate.”
The matter was postponed to Wednesday, 11 February 2026, when Pacula will appear alongside co-accused Victor Mthethwa Majola, who was denied bail last month.
