In some parts of the community, households have reportedly been without power for up to two weeks, severely disrupting daily routines and livelihoods.

Residents say repeated attempts to report faults to Eskom have led nowhere. Calls, logged queries, and follow-ups have allegedly gone unanswered, leaving families in the dark and without clear timelines for restoration. The lack of communication has only deepened frustration, with many feeling ignored by the very systems meant to assist them.

Tensions have also been directed at local leadership. Community members have voiced dissatisfaction with their ward councillor, accusing them of being absent and unresponsive during a time of crisis. These concerns have spilled onto social media, where one widely shared post criticised both the power outages and broader infrastructure issues affecting the area.
