Toyota’s Corolla Cross continues to perform strongly in South Africa, keeping its place among the country’s best-selling passenger vehicles.

Business Day reports that 1,489 Corolla Cross models were sold in August 2026, making it Toyota’s best-selling passenger car for the month and the seventh best-selling vehicle overall.

The Corolla Cross is built locally at Toyota South Africa’s Prospecton plant in Durban, according to AutoTrader.

Corolla Cross remains a top seller

The August result placed the Corolla Cross fourth among South Africa’s best-selling passenger cars, behind the Volkswagen Polo Vivo, Chery Tiggo 4/Cross and Suzuki Swift.

Toyota also remained the country’s top-selling vehicle brand in August, recording 13,814 sales and a 23.9% market share.

The published sales figures apply to the Corolla Cross range as a whole and are not broken down by individual derivatives.
