Hyundai has given its Staria range a mid-cycle update in South Africa, focusing on technology, cabin design and exterior details rather than changing the vehicle’s mechanical setup.

The refreshed people-mover is now available locally from R719,900, with several seating configurations offered across the range.

Cabin receives the biggest changes

The most noticeable updates are inside.

Hyundai has enlarged both the infotainment display and digital instrument cluster from 260mm to 312mm.

The dashboard layout and centre fascia have also been reworked, while a redesigned steering wheel and revised trim details give the cabin a more modern appearance.

Hyundai Automotive South Africa CEO Stanley Anderson said the latest Staria builds on the model’s existing focus on comfort, versatility and technology.

Exterior gets a cleaner look

Changes to the body are more subtle.

The front and rear bumpers have been redesigned, while the grille and daytime running lights have also been revised.

New wheel designs and an updated rear garnish complete the exterior changes.

The Staria keeps the distinctive curved silhouette that has become one of its most recognisable design features.

Same diesel powertrain retained

Under the bonnet, Hyundai has kept the familiar 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine.

It produces 130kW and 430Nm and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The local range starts with the three-seater Panelvan at R719,900.

The nine-seater Executive costs R959,900, while the 11-seater Executive is priced at R969,900.

The nine-seater Elite comes in at R1,099,900, with the Luxury positioned at the top of the range at R1,324,900.

All models are sold with a seven-year/200,000km warranty and seven-year/150,000km roadside assistance.

The Executive and Elite versions include a six-year/90,000km service plan, while the Luxury gets a seven-year/105,000km plan.
