March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma and her husband, Xolani Zuma, have been linked to government contracts worth nearly R12 million, according to a News24 investigation.
The findings come as March and March continues its campaigns against undocumented immigration and criticises the government's handling of immigration enforcement.
Ngobese-Zuma leads March and March, while her husband heads its spin-off organisation, SA First Forum, and serves as legal head of both groups.
R10.5 Million Agricultural Contract
According to News24, the couple's company, XJ Family Enterprise, secured a 36-month contract with KwaZulu-Natal's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The contract covers farmer support and development, with R3.5 million allocated for the 2026/27 financial year and R10.5 million projected over three years.
Company records show that XJ Family Enterprise was registered in September 2024, less than a year before the tender was advertised in June 2025.
Ngobese-Zuma and her husband are the company's only directors.
However, questions remain about the company's agricultural experience and the criteria used to award the contract.
News24 reported that the department had not responded to questions about the selection process at the time of publication.
Additional Government Payments
The investigation also revealed that Xolani Zuma's law firm, Zuma and Partners Incorporated, received payments exceeding R1 million from KwaZulu-Natal's Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.
These payments were made across seven transactions, mostly during the 2025/26 financial year.
Meanwhile, Ngobese-Zuma's events company, Sodelwa Trading, received R118,000 for an advertising contract from the provincial Department of Sport and Recreation in 2021/22.
The company also received R20,000 in Covid-19 relief funding from the national Department of Sports, Arts and Culture during 2020/21.
Sodelwa Trading has also conducted business with municipalities, including Msunduzi Municipality.
