Filming is officially underway for Red, White & Royal Wedding, the highly anticipated sequel to the smash hit Red, White & Royal Blue. The original film, released on Prime Video, quickly became a global favourite, earning a 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes and turning its royal romance into a cultural talking point.

The film franchise is based on the bestselling 2019 novel Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston, whose story of a secret transatlantic love affair between a British prince and the U.S. president’s son first captured readers before making a successful leap to the big screen.

The sequel reunites fan-favourite stars Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez as Prince Henry and Alex Claremont-Diaz, whose once-secret relationship now steps into a new chapter. While plot details remain tightly guarded, the story is expected to continue their romance following the hopeful ending of the first film.

Behind the camera, Jamie Babbit takes the helm, directing from a screenplay by Matthew López, Gemma Burgess, and McQuiston. The project is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, which confirmed the sequel after overwhelming fan response to the original.

Additional cast announcements are still pending, though Uma Thurman has indicated she’s open to returning.

No release date has been confirmed yet, but one thing is clear: wedding bells are ringing, and fans are ready to RSVP.
